| Large objects far away cannot be seen in stereo. The 3D effect we see comes only from other clues, such as perspective. Increasing the space between cameras for the two shots and/or using a telephoto lens restores stereoscopy. Stereo parallax drops by the square of the distance, so these tricks overpower the limitation, by magnifying the parallax. Hyper-stereoscopic panorama is too wide for cross or parallel eye viewing and shows better by over/under (KMQ) viewing, anaglyphs or shutter glasses. |
