Category Add/Del:
This function allows you add an exhibit in a new category by checking
the desired box. You can also add or edit the description of each
exhibit. This
appears at the top of the selected category's gallery page. Edit the text in the description
box and submit the changes. Feel free to add a
reference link to your own site if you wish, but this will be inactive (i.e. a user will have to copy it over into his or
her browser address box). If you wish to withdraw a whole exhibit
category, uncheck its box. Warning: un-checking a
category box will delete all the pictures in this category.
Change User Category:
This allows users with multiple gallery pages to select which page to operate
on with the functions described below.
Upload Image:
For each formatted image you wish to upload to your selected gallery page,
enter a title and description in the boxes provided. Keep the
description short (it should be just a line or two when the image
comes up). If you don't want any description enter a space and
then a return in the description box.
Use the browse button on the uploader to find the picture file on your computer that you wish to
upload (and which is associated with the title and description that you have entered). This file should be a jpeg ( ***.jpg) image file,
compressed to around 200K (full size stereo pair) or 100K
(anaglyph). The image size should be around 2048 wide for a pair,
1024 wide for an anaglyph.
- All images less than 1200 wide are
considered to be anaglyphs!!
Once you have located the proper image
on your machine, double click on it or click Open. Its file name
should then appear in the "File: entry space" in the Upload-Image
control box.
Parallel pairs SHOULD BE BORDERLESS, with the separation
vertical right in the middle. Anaglyphs should also be borderless.
EXAMPLE:

1) Images
LARGER THAN 300KB will NOT be accepted by the website.
2) Image
pixel dimension must BE IN THE RANGE: 600 - 2500 wide,
300 - 1024 tall.
If you are uploading a stereo pair, and you want computer generated
anaglyphs to be available (derived from your pair by our 3D formatting
program), click on the Allow Anaglyph Box. If this box is not
clicked, anaglyphs will not appear in the 3D format option list for this
image. This box has no effect on Anaglyph uploads.
After completing the entries in the upload panel, click UPLOAD. The server will
tell you after the image has been accepted. Thumbnails are
automatically generated and your gallery page is expanded to include the
new image. The
Exhibitor List is also updated to show the most recent date you added an
image to your gallery.
The RESET button is used to clear all the info in the upload boxes.
Browse Pictures:
This selection provides you with a list of pictures held in the data
base under your User Name for the selected category. All of these pictures will appear in the
thumbnail list on the gallery page that carries your NAME that you provided
the curator (contact the curator to change it).
There are edit/delete/view functions for each image
line. The
ordering of the thumbnails on your gallery page (numbered as you would
read a book - left to right then down) is shown, along with the image
title.
Edit: Clicking
this button allows you to change the attributes of the image (title,
anaglyph permission, description). After making changes click
Submit. Reset takes you back to the original settings.
Delete: Use this button
to remove the image from the database. This also takes out the
thumbnail from your gallery page.
View: Clicking this
button will present the 3D formatted version of this picture. Use the Back
Button (or Backspace key
with Internet Explorer) to return to the Browse-Images menu.
Order: You can use these
boxes to specify the order your images appear on the gallery thumbnail
page. Each image must have a unique number, starting with 1.
Order-Setting is useful, for example, if you have a sequence that you
may want a visitor to view, one after another, using the NEXT button in the 3D formatter
control box. After you have re-arranged the order, click
Update. To return to the original Order, click Reset.
General Info:
You can bounce back and forth between the User Function menu and the
actual exhibits to see the effects of your changes or uploads. As
soon as you upload something it becomes available to the general public,
so if you need to change an error in a title, for example, do it
immediately. Use the back button to return to the User Function
menu, or, if all else fails re-enter via the EXHIBITS navbar, which
should include all the Exhibitor Function options.
Please Logout when you are done. Inactive sessions are
terminated after 10 minutes.
